“To make people free is the aim of art, therefore art for me is the science of freedom.” Joseph Beuys

As impatient as we are, we have actually robbed next summer 2009's development. It is a totally new shape for us from the Last down to the heel. The heel is a combination of hand sculpture and computer. Initially it was formed entirely in the hand but when turning it into a production ready form, it took on a surprising new shape that we instantly loved. A shape that could neither be created by hand or machine alone. This collection is only held in our shop and cannot be found elsewhere until next summer. I suggest a visit - quick like.

Bueys is one of my favourite artists. His use of felt is an obvious reference in my work this season. Not only happy to line our shoes with it, we have brought the felt to the forefront with uppers made of it. Both the Classic shape and new form will feature this material as well as our signature waxed leather that actually looks better with wear. A long life is what it is all about.
